It was on Monday that the Danish company Novafos discovered that 700,000 liters of untreated wastewater flowed out into the Sound at Skovshoved every hour, after a pipe broke.

On the same day, the municipality of Copenhagen issued a recommendation against swimming at the popular beach Svanemøllen.

The municipality has had samples taken of the water and these show that the discharge has not affected the bathing water quality.

On Thursday, the municipality of Copenhagen therefore removed the signs urging the public to refrain from swimming, Danish TV2 Lorry states.

The reason for the discharge was a break in a sewer line, which resulted in untreated wastewater being pumped out into a rainwater system and discharged straight into the Sound.

The crime could be fixed on Tuesday.

This is what the county administrative board's unit manager Rima Daoud said on Tuesday about the emissions and the risks to the people of Skåne.

The people of Skåne should not be worried about the Danish sewage discharge.

At the same time, the county administrative board is waiting for more information from the Danish Ministry of the Environment, according to Rima Daoud, head of the environmental inspection unit at the county administrative board in Skåne.
