30 May 2021 A ski mountaineer died in Valle d'Aosta after being hit by an avalanche.



The accident occurred in the early afternoon under the Nacamuli refuge at Col Collon, in Valpelline (Gran San Bernardo valley), at about 2,700 meters above sea level.



The alarm was given by the victim's ski mountaineering partner, who first tried in vain to dig it up and then went down to call for help. At the moment the details of the deceased ski mountaineer have not been disclosed.



The Valle d'Aosta Alpine Rescue and the Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza of Cervinia intervened on the spot, which deals with the investigations.
