China News Service, May 30. According to reports, a Boeing spokesperson responded that the company is providing more information about the undelivered 787 to regulators in a timely and transparent manner.

Previously, due to fuselage defects and other problems, the delivery of the 787 passenger plane was suspended for five months, and will not resume until the end of March 2021.

A Boeing spokesperson also said that the delay this time has affected "recent" deliveries.

The Wall Street Journal quoted a person familiar with the matter as saying that the American Airlines Group was originally scheduled to receive a new 787 passenger plane this week, but it is expected that delivery may not be possible until next week at the earliest.

The Associated Press reported that it is unclear how long this delivery delay will last.

Since most of Boeing’s money for the sale of the aircraft is received on delivery, long-term delays may affect the company’s cash flow.

CFRA Research analyst Colin Scarola called this "obviously disappointing news" for Boeing and its investors.

But he said that the problem seems to be related to inspection procedures, rather than new design or manufacturing issues, and that it seems to be resolved soon.
