May 30, 2021 A gay couple was attacked in Palermo last night, in via Università.

A group of kids surrounded them near via Maqueda, in the historic center of the city. The two, from Turin, were on vacation in the capital and were looking for a hotel. The kids first would have insulted them because the two were holding hands, then they surrounded and attacked them. One of the two victims was injured and was rescued by 118 staff and taken to the emergency room.

Investigate the police who have acquired the images of the video surveillance systems in the area to trace the perpetrators of the gesture.

Orlando, an act of cowardice, immediately approve the Zan ddl

"The attack on a gay couple in via Maqueda represents a cowardly act that has nothing to do with the cultural change of a city that promotes, day after day, the rights of the person. This criminal episode also reaffirms the importance and the urgent approval of the Zan bill. Politics can no longer waste time ". This was declared by the mayor of Palermo Leoluca Orlando after the homophobic attack last night.
