Vietnam discovers a new strain of Corona virus

Vietnamese Minister of Health Niwen Tan Luong said today that his country has discovered a new strain of Corona virus, which is a mixture of the Indian and British strains, indicating that it spreads quickly through the air.
After the success of containing the Corona virus for most of last year, Vietnam is currently experiencing a rise in infections since late April, which constitutes more than half of the total 6,713 infections recorded so far, and Vietnam has recorded 47 deaths to date.
"Vietnam has discovered a new strain of Covid-19 that combines the characteristics of the two strains that were detected in India and the United Kingdom ... the new strain is very dangerous," the minister said.
Vietnam had previously spotted seven subspecies, including the Indian and British breeds.
The World Health Organization has identified four strains of Covid-19 that are of global concern, and they are those that were first detected in India, Britain, South Africa and Brazil.
