The day after the declaration of the Constitutional Court of Mali according to which Colonel Assimi Goïta now occupies the functions of president of the transition, the latter left Bamako on Saturday for Accra in Ghana.

He will participate in part of the extraordinary summit of heads of state of the sub-regional institution.

In the delegation accompanying Colonel Assimi Goïta to Accra, his most loyal collaborator, chief of staff with the rank of minister, is Captain Demba Daw.

There is also a diplomat from the Malian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with him.

In Accra, from this Saturday, Assimi Goïta will have talks with officials of ECOWAS, including the President of the Commission, the Ivorian Jean-Claude Kassi Brou.

Then, this Sunday, he will attend part of the extraordinary meeting of heads of state of the sub-regional institution.

In the meantime, here in Bamako, the judgment of the Constitutional Court which declares the colonel

president of the transition

and head of state is debated.

First among the constitutionalists.

There are those who approve, but also those who believe that the Court's decision is completely unfounded.

On the side of the Malian political parties, many groups and associations denounce “

the unilateral breakdown of the transition process

.

"New Hope", a grouping of parties led by former minister Housséïni Guido, the PDES, or the association "Save democracy from the putschists" demand the continuation of a civil transition and call for mobilization.
