Doctors in Hesse have only been able to vaccinate their patients against the coronavirus since the beginning of April, and since then they and their staff have administered more than a million vaccine doses.

This is announced by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

A total of 3.62 million preventive injections against Covid-19 have been given in Hesse so far;

941,000 people are vaccinated, as reported by the Robert Koch Institute.

Most of the vaccinations in medical practices are in Frankfurt.

    The city of Offenbach continues to glow cherry red on the Corona map of the Robert Koch Institute.

    That speaks for a comparatively lively infection process.

    The same applies to Wiesbaden, for example.

    Nevertheless, unlike the people in the Hessian state capital, the Offenbachers are looking forward to further easing.

    Because Offenbach has had an incidence below 100 for more than five days, the city will move into stage one in the state on Sunday.

    It joins Frankfurt and 13 districts, including the Offenbach district and the Main-Kinzig district.

    The district of Fulda and the Schwalm-Eder district are also on the first level from Sunday, with their central Corona code number being clearly lower than that of the neighboring city of Frankfurt.

    This goes hand in hand with more freedom: From now on, people in Offenbach can again shop at “Click and Meet” without a negative test, although the mask remains mandatory, even in pedestrian zones. Hosts can serve guests outside again, with a fresh negative test. Hoteliers and event organizers now also have more options than before. The individual requirements can be found here. The districts of Darmstadt-Dieburg, Hochtaunus, Main-Taunus, Vogelsberg and Wetterau, which are on level two, are better off. On Sunday, Darmstadt and the district of Gießen can also join them. Since May 15, these regions have had an incidence of less than 100, i.e. fewer than 100 new cases among 100,000 inhabitants recorded within a week. That means more freedom for people.

    In general, the infection rate in Hesse is cooling down further. After stagnation, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) once again reports fewer new infections recorded overnight than a week ago. The incidence continues to decrease, but only Thuringia has a higher central index. The RKI still assumes that there are more than 11,000 unrecovered infected people. It reports two deaths more than a week ago. In the case of those who have been vaccinated, Hesse is losing ground compared to other countries. And according to the Ministry of Social Affairs, the clinics are counting more suspected corona cases than a week ago, with the number of ventilated corona patients falling pleasingly.

    The RKI reports 539 new cases after 611 a week ago. Since the beginning of the pandemic in March of last year, 286,111 people in Hesse have officially been infected with the Covid-19-causing corona virus. That corresponds to a good 4.3 percent of the country's population. Around 11,400 cases are not yet over, i.e. active. That is around 300 less than the day before.
