The Brazilian defender of Chelsea and former player of PSG Thiago Silva regretted Saturday after the coronation of his team in the Champions League to have been considered as "the culprit" of the repeated failures of the Parisian club in its quest for the C1.

"With all the pressure I had at PSG to win this cup, people were looking for a culprit. Each time it was me, it's a shame, I gave everything for the club," he said. he said at the microphone of the RMC channel after Chelsea's victory against Manchester City (1-0).

"I hope they will have it (the C1), I will always be Red and Blue," added Silva, who wore the PSG jersey from 2012 to 2020, before joining Chelsea last summer.

For Silva, this European coronation is "the most important moment of (his) career": "It's unforgettable, I'm very happy, it's also the moment to be grateful for everything that has been done Paris for me ".

This European triumph, Chelsea and Silva owe a lot to Thomas Tuchel, his coach at PSG from 2018 to 2020, sacked by the Parisian club last December and quickly revived by Chelsea.

"We sometimes do not understand what is happening in our lives (...) it has changed everything, the mentality of the team", he explained about Tuchel, before paying tribute to Franck Lampard, the previous coach of the "Blues".

The 36-year-old defender also returned to the injury that forced him to leave his teammates just before the end of the first period.

"I could not continue. In a match of this level, you have to be at 110% and I was only at 70%, but the team kept their calm, we defended well, we suffered, but we knew we had to suffer against a team like City, ”he concluded.
