Malaysia imposes a "complete closure" with the increase in Corona cases

On Friday, Malaysia announced the imposition of a "complete lockdown" throughout the country, starting from Tuesday, the first of next June, with the number of people infected with the Coronavirus reaching record levels.

Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said that the most stringent closure will start from the first of June until the 14th of the same month, and will be applied to social and economic activities, and only essential services will be excluded from this.

Muhyiddin said in a statement that "in light of the recent increase in the number of daily injuries, which showed a massively upward trend, the capacity of hospitals across the country is limited in treating Covid-19 patients."

The spread of "Covid-19" has increased in the Southeast Asian country in recent weeks, and the reason is partly due to the mutated strains of the virus that transmit very quickly.

Malaysia recorded 8,290 new cases of Coronavirus on Friday, which is the fourth consecutive day in which infections have recorded record numbers, bringing the total number to 549514. It also recorded 61 deaths from the virus today, Friday.
