- Initially, we received information that there were about 40 people involved.
But we found on the spot that it could be up to a hundred people, says police spokesman Fredrik Svedemyr.
About thirty people were taken into care at midnight, most around the age of 20.
The incident is being investigated as a violent riot.
- There has been information that the shelter was used, possibly a knife, but this is not something we can confirm, Svedemyr says.
Already at 5 pm, the police were alerted to the same place due to an assault.
One person has been taken into custody in that case.
The police do not know if the riot as degenerate can be linked to the assault, but are investigating possible connections.
It is not known if anyone has needed hospital care.
After midnight, the situation in Hjällbo is said to be calm, but the police remain there during the night, Svedemyr states.
