The mother of the child Julie Nasser, who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy, confirmed that the doctors confirmed to her the response of her daughter's body to treatment, given her young age, as she does not exceed three years, adding that Julie began yesterday, the first rehabilitation sessions at the Al-Tariq Therapeutic Nutritional Center, to strengthen her muscles.

The girl suffers from a rare disease that leads to muscle atrophy and osteoporosis, in addition to difficulty breathing and swallowing.

It also affects the lungs, causing infections in them that may lead to death, while the cost of treatment is approximately two and a half million dollars.

The decline in the health of the girl’s parents prompted appeals to officials, artists and media professionals to highlight her case, by creating a page on Facebook and Instagram.

They also launched a campaign to appeal to philanthropists to help them save their daughter, and they sent their appeal to the UAE, the country that deals with childhood.

The mother continued that she felt completely reassured following the initiative of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation (Mother of the Emirates), to take care of her daughter's treatment expenses, and to direct the provision of the utmost health care for her.

Alaa said that she showed Julie to doctors in Syria, and the response came that the treatment was ineffective, because the healing process was impossible, and that there was no cure for this disease, adding that she and her husband conducted a search on the Internet and found a treatment for their daughter, which is an injection that is not available in her country, with a value of two and a half million dollars. .

Jolie has only undergone periodic examinations in her country in conjunction with physical therapy, and was taken to the hospital when breathing attacks occurred, or whenever she had difficulty swallowing.

The Emirates Red Crescent Authority, through the "Attain My Heart" program, took the initiative to facilitate the opening of a donation account in the Emirates to collect the cost of treatment.

Upon visiting the mother (Alaa) to Dubai in coordination with the authority, I was surprised that the "mother of the Emirates", Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, had been directed to take care of her daughter's treatment expenses, provide her with the utmost levels of health care, and expedite the arrangements for her treatment at Al Jalila Children's Hospital, in Dubai.

Alaa says: "I thank the UAE, its leadership and its people, and I especially thank Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak .. She restored hope to me."

Alaa considers that the moment she arrives at Dubai Airport is one of the happiest moments in her life, after a long journey of anxiety and suffering.

She also expressed her surprise at the exceptional reception she received at the airport from the Red Crescent, with flowers, games and promises that her daughter was in safe hands.

She explained that Jolie's journey with treatment in the UAE began by undergoing medical examinations, to complete the overall evaluation of her condition and reach the stage of determining the date of the injection, but some medical examinations revealed her need for an operation with the need to undergo physical therapy for two years.

Jolie is the tenth patient in the hospital who receives this injection, and the doctors assured the mother that the results will be promising, indicating that her body will respond to treatment due to her young age.

The mother said that Julie needs at least a year to obtain tangible medical results, but that the first three months after receiving the injection bear indications that the treatment has begun to work effectively.

She said that the most difficult moment she went through was when she received a phone call from a person, whose identity she did not know, who offered to sell her daughter to him, in exchange for the amount he would pay for her treatment.

And Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital in Dubai announced that Jolie began her treatment journey last Sunday, in implementation of the directives of (Mother of the Emirates), and that she is sponsored by the Red Crescent Authority.

Mother of the child:
