From the perspective of social economy, there are significant regional differences between the eastern and western regions and the urban and rural areas, which will inevitably affect the balanced development of women and children in the field of health.
For example, although infectious diseases are still the leading cause of death among Chinese children in western rural areas, in most other areas, the main threats to child survival have turned into neonatal diseases, birth defects, and accidental injuries.
