Ethiopia's ruling Prosperity Party pledged to fill the second filling of the Renaissance Dam soon, at a time when Sudanese Foreign Minister Maryam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi confirmed her country's position in finding a peaceful solution to its differences with Ethiopia.

A statement by the Executive Committee of the Prosperity Party stated that Ethiopia is the source of the Nile River and has the ability to enhance the situation in the Horn of Africa and East Africa, considering that there are countries he did not name that believe that Ethiopia's strength and position in the region may limit the interests of these countries.

The statement added that "the enemies of Ethiopia" seek to ignite wars with its neighbors to weaken the Ethiopian economy and stop its major projects, stressing that the main plan is to complete the Renaissance Dam project and work hard to restore Ethiopia's influence in the Red Sea.

On the other hand, the Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed during her meeting with Ghanaian President Nana Akufo Addo in Accra on Sudan's position in finding a peaceful solution to the dispute over the Renaissance Dam and the border with Ethiopia.

Maryam Al-Mahdi indicated that Sudan adopts African solutions to African problems, while giving a greater role to the international community.

Maryam Al-Mahdi stressed that the second filling of the dam without a legal agreement represents a real danger to Sudan, and called on Ghana to support the position of her country, which she described as just and moderate.

In a related context, European Union spokeswoman Nabila Masrali assured Al-Jazeera that there is no military solution to the crisis over the Renaissance Dam between Egypt and Sudan on the one hand, and Ethiopia on the other hand, and said that the position of the European Union and its envoy to the Horn of Africa, Alex Rondos, is in line with that of the United States.

Masrali considered that the political settlement of the crisis through a solution agreed upon between the three countries is the only one that can guarantee the benefit of all parties.

The European Union spokeswoman stressed the need to resume negotiations under the auspices of the African Union as soon as possible, and to define a clear path for them.

In this context, she pointed out that the European Union is engaged with the parties, the African Union and its president in efforts to find a quick solution to the crisis.
