Al-Assad in a speech marking his victory: The Syrian voters have redefined the revolution

In a televised speech after winning the elections, Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad addressed the Syrian people, saying: "In every national event you have always put your own definition of patriotism."

In the speech broadcast by the official media and the platforms of the Syrian presidency on social media today, Al-Assad said that “in every national event, whether this is defense of weapons, opinion, action, or a constitutional one, the Syrian people always put their own definition of the meaning of patriotism.”

Addressing the Syrians, Assad said that those who went out to participate in the presidential elections presented the true meaning of the revolution.

In his speech, Al-Assad added, "(You) have defined the revolution and brought it back to it."

He said, “What you have done during the past weeks was not just an occasion celebrations, nor an expression of patriotic passion and passion, or a commitment to a national duty to participate in the presidential elections. Preceded by the enemies of the homeland with their various nationalities, loyalties, and subordination. ”

"The people choosing me to serve them in the coming constitutional period is a great honor that only the honor of belonging to this people can attain," Al-Assad said.

Al-Assad, 55, won yesterday the presidential elections that took place on May 26 in Syria and on 20 of it in the countries of expatriate, after obtaining 95.1% of the total votes of the voters who participated in the vote, and their number exceeded 14 million voters, out of more than 18 Two million are eligible to vote inside and outside the country.
