Japan marked Dokdo as if it were Japanese land on the Tokyo Olympics website, the International Olympic Committee's IOC said that it had virtually no intention of intervening in the matter. The government decided to send an official letter to the IOC chairman next week calling for the role of the IOC.

Regarding the map of the Tokyo Olympics website, which shows Dokdo in faint, SBS asked the IOC of the International Olympic Committee if there were any plans to request the removal of Dokdo from Japan.

The IOC replied to direct inquiries to the Tokyo Olympics organizing committee, asking them to refer to their position.

I asked for an answer again saying that I wanted to know the position of the IOC other than Japan, but the answer was not different this time.

In fact, he showed no intention to intervene.

The foreign ministers of Korea and Japan also publicly exchanged and spoken.

[Eui-Yong Jeong/Minister of Foreign Affairs: I will never tolerate any misconduct in Japan regarding the Dokdo issue.]

[Kato/Japan Secretary of State: (Dokdo) is our own territory, even under international law, and on the Korean side. The argument is never acceptable.]

Early next week, the government decided to send an official letter to IOC Chairman Thomas Bach in the name of Korea Sports Council Chairman Lee Ki-heung requesting intervention.

A government official said in a call with SBS that "the IOC should play a clear role in Japan's adherence to the Dokdo map."

Earlier, the Korean government accepted the IOC recommendations during the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and deleted Dokdo from the Korean Peninsula.

As there is precedent, it is not a task for the IOC to stand by, and it is not a task for Japan to endure.
