Bullerby Cup has existed since 1977 and is one of Småland's largest sporting events that annually gathers thousands of football-loving girls and boys between the ages of ten and 14.
The cup is arranged by Vimmerby IF together with Smålands Fotbollförbund.
But this year, as last year, the cup is canceled due to the ongoing corona pandemic.
-Unfortunately, we have now received a definite message from the Swedish Sports Confederation and the Public Health Agency / Infectious Disease Control that such a large event can not be carried out this year either, the organizer writes in a press release.
Aims for 2022
Now they are instead investing in carrying out the cup next year.
- The aim is already set for 2022, all teams that are registered for interest until 2021 are prepared for a place in next year's Bullerby Cup except for the team with players born in 2007 which is unfortunately too old next year's cup.
Bullerby Cup usually has about 200 teams and 3000 players registered each year.
