The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it had held a third video conference on the evening of the 27th of yesterday at the'Northeast Asia Quarantine and Health Cooperation Organization' and discussed actual cooperation projects between related countries.
The meeting was attended by diplomatic and health officials from six governments, including Korea, the United States, China, Japan, Russia, and Mongolia, as well as officials from the embassy in Korea.
In order to quickly respond to the demand for emergency quarantine supplies in the event of a new infectious disease, including Corona 19, Korea proposed an early establishment of the'Combined Medical Quarantine Supplies Festival' between participating countries.
In addition, it emphasized the need to develop joint education and training programs related to infectious disease response, and announced that a videoconference with experts should be held in the second half of the year to identify specific demands for joint education and training.
Participating countries generally expressed sympathy and decided to continue to discuss specifics, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Participants were also reported to have shared the perception that North Korea's participation in cooperation in the future is important in strengthening joint response and cooperation on cross-border health and security issues in the region.
The Northeast Asia Quarantine and Health Partnership is a regional cooperation initiative to respond to cross-border health and security issues including Corona 19, and was launched in December of last year, led by Korea.
