Kungsmarken in Karlskrona is one of the areas in Blekinge that has shown the lowest vaccine willingness in the county.

One explanation may be that this is an area with many foreign-born - a group that has generally been shown to have lower vaccination coverage than among people born in Sweden.

- You might get home a note where it says information in Swedish.

Then it happens that you are not in the turns in the same way, says Roland Harutyunyan.

"Big part"

The Blekinge region has chosen 23-year-old Roland Harutyunyan as its vaccine ambassador - a person whose task is to inform about the vaccination against covid-19 in the areas where it is believed to be needed most.

- I feel that I have a huge role in this.

I need to convey this and explain why this is so important.

On the overall good vaccine will

In general, the people of Blekinge have a good will to get vaccinated, says the region's vaccine coordinator Mats Berggren.

Even in the areas that have lower vaccine coverage, it is still about 80 percent of, for example, the age group over 60 who have taken their vaccine.

Kungsmarken's health center, which has the county's lowest vaccine coverage, reaches 82.1 percent.

- We have more difficult-to-reach groups, such as new arrivals and foreign-born, or people with a psychiatric background.

We know this and we work actively to get them vaccinated, says vaccine coordinator Mats Berggren.

- But overall, the vaccine will be good in Blekinge and it is tough and improving all the time.
