Shortly after 7 pm, a neighbor alerted the 25-year-old SOS that there was a bloody man in the stairwell.

Through the peephole in her door she had seen the man try to crawl out of his apartment door several times but each time pulled in again by a dark-clad person.

The man was pronounced dead in the ambulance a few minutes later.

Paid with bloody banknotes

Several witnesses had seen the two men together earlier the same day and therefore the 20-year-old became interesting early in the investigation - but it would take a day before he was found.

The day after the murder, he was caught on surveillance film while shopping for clothes at the Emporia shopping center in Malmö.

Bloody banknotes were found in a store after the accused 20-year-old had been there and shopped - the day after the murder.

The salesman who sold the clothes to the man noted that he was paid with 29 hundred kronor notes, which he thought was strange.

When the police visited the clothing store, they were able to secure 10 of the banknotes - with traces of blood.

The other 19 are believed to have been handed over as exchange to other customers.

These notes are now part of the prosecutor's evidence against the man.

The man is believed to have stolen the money from his dead friend.

The blood comes from the 20-year-old himself.

Traces of blood on the shoes

Shortly after the visit to the shopping center, the 20-year-old was with his friends at Malmö Central.

Then one of the customs drug dogs marked the 20-year-old's company and the customs officials soon discovered that the man was wanted for a murder.

The 20-year-old was wearing the shoes when he was arrested, the police have found traces of blood from the victim.

The man has throughout the time he has been in custody denied to crime.

In interrogation, he has said that he left his friend's apartment just before the murder occurred and that he believed that the 25-year-old had arranged a date with another person.

The girlfriend's testimony can trap the 20-year-old

At 9 o'clock on Friday, the trial against the 25-year-old begins in Lund District Court.

One of the prosecutor's witnesses is the man's own ex-girlfriend, with whom he was living at the time of the crime.

Several months after the murder, she chose to tell in interrogation that her ex had come home bloody on the night of the murder and that he had money, drugs and the murder weapon with him home.

The clothes and the murder weapon, a knife, must then have been disposed of by another person in the household, according to the girlfriend.
