In total, the politician is charged with five counts: aggravated rape of a child, aggravated sexual abuse of a child, aggravated breach of the peace and purchase of sexual services and drug offenses. 

The first three charges are about abuse of a girl between the years 2013 and 2016. The girl was 9-12 years old at the time.

- We have investigated the case, held many interrogations and are now submitting it to the district court, says prosecutor Charlotte Genberg.

There is technical evidence

The police have secured some technical evidence, including a computer, memory cards and text messages.

- I think the state of evidence is good, and I have hopes of a conviction, says Charlotte Genberg.

The date for the trial is set for June 7-8.

The accused politician denies all allegations.
