The police state around 2 pm on Friday that they have received a request for assistance from the Göta Court of Appeal and that the man is in custody in his absence. 

- He is wanted and we are actively working on the case.

I can not comment further at the moment, says Mats Öhman, press spokesperson for the police in Bergslagen.

The man, who was previously acquitted by Örebro District Court, was sentenced by the Court of Appeal on Friday to 18 years in prison for the murder.

After the district court proceedings ended last year, the 47-year-old was released and has been at large since then.

In connection with the judgment of the Court of Appeal being announced on Friday, the Göta Court of Appeal also decided that the man should be remanded in custody.
