The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China announced that Foreign Minister Wang Yi had met with the North Korean ambassador to Beijing and agreed to deepen cooperation over the situation on the Korean Peninsula. While emphasizing the national framework, there seems to be an aim to restrain this.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on the 27th that Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a meeting with North Korean ambassador to North Korea, Li Ryung Nam, who is stationed in Beijing.

According to this, at the meeting, Foreign Minister Wang said, "I want to develop bilateral relations in line with the times and actively contribute to the peace and stability of the region," while Ambassador Li also said, "Unwavering friendship with China." We agreed to deepen cooperation over the situation on the Korean Peninsula in response to "I want to build a building."

Foreign Minister Wang said, "We would like to continue to provide North Korea with as much assistance as possible," and promised to provide assistance as the North Korean economy was hit by the stagnation of trade due to the measures against the new coronavirus.

This is the first time that the meeting between Foreign Minister Wang and Ambassador Li has been revealed since the appointment of Ambassador Li in March.

Regarding North Korea, the Biden administration in the United States has shown an attitude of emphasizing the framework of the three countries of Japan and South Korea, and is seeking dialogue with North Korea, and China has a presence as a backing for North Korea. There seems to be an aim to show off and restrain the movement of the United States.
