- 80 percent of the entire season was closed, says rider Viktor Melin from Norrköping.

In the clip, he and Sissela Smith reflect on the turbulent year of equestrian sports.

Smaller stable parts during the competition

The competitions in Åby are now run without an audience and one of the organizers Claes Pettersson thinks that it went well to adapt the event.

- In the beginning, it felt awkward to take into account the pandemic law and the restrictions, but when you bone it out and do not divide the facility into different zones, we have got good control of it, says Pettersson.

Even with regard to the deadly virus EHV-1, which recently affected horses at competitions in Spain, it has had to be adapted.

- We have rebuilt the stables a little so that there is less number of horses in each stable part, says Claes Pettersson.
