“Late in the evening of May 27, a Japanese cargo ship and an overseas-registered tanker collided in the Inland Sea off the coast of Ehime Prefecture,” NHK reported.

As a result of the collision, the Japanese ship capsized.

As specified, of the 12 crew members, 9 were rescued, three are reported missing.

On board there were 13 sailors - citizens of South Korea and Myanmar.
