The lifeless body of a woman in her sixties was recovered this Thursday morning in the Ille-et-Rance canal in Rennes at the level of the boulevard Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny, we learned from firefighters.

It was a passer-by who sounded the alert a little before 8:30 a.m. after seeing a body floating in the canal.

A team of firefighters then intervened to extract the woman from the water.

Despite attempts to resuscitate her, the victim died.

An investigation was opened by the police to identify the victim and determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
