This is reported by RBC with reference to a source close to the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

"In the near future, the Russian side will give permission for the arrival of flights of European companies on alternative routes," the newspaper writes.

As noted, the adoption of such a decision is delayed due to the need to work out updated routes for aircraft in connection with the refusal of European airlines to fly over the territory of Belarus.

According to a representative of one of the Russian airlines, a meeting is being held at the Federal Air Transport Agency, during which this issue is discussed.

Earlier, Austrian Airlines announced that it had canceled a flight from Vienna to Moscow on Thursday, May 27, due to the refusal of the Russian side to adjust the flight plan bypassing Belarus.

On May 23, a Ryanair plane landed in Minsk on a flight from Athens to Vilnius.

According to the Belarusian authorities, this was due to the report of a bomb on board.

The founder of the NEXTA Telegram channel recognized as extremist in Belarus, Roman Protasevich, was on the plane.

He was detained after landing.
