Cyclone Yaas left behind thousands of homeless on Thursday in India, already heavily affected by the fierce Covid-19 epidemic.

At least four people have died in the east of the country and five others, including four children, have died in neighboring Bangladesh.

Accompanied by waves, some of which reached the height of a double-decker bus, heavy rains and gusts of up to 155 kilometers per hour, the category 2 cyclone made landfall at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Indian meteorological department.

It has since moved inland towards Jharhkand State, and developed into a severe depression accompanied by heavy rains.

Find, in pictures, the damage caused by the meteorological phenomenon.
