May 27, 2021 Three people carrying two shovels, a bucket with a blue bag, a crowbar and another work tool and headed to the fields behind the house of Saman Habbas's family.

This is what emerged from the vision of the

surveillance cameras in the

context of the investigations of the carabinieri of the investigative nucleus of Reggio Emilia and of the Compagnia di Guastalla.

The scene has reinforced the hypothesis that the girl of Pakistani origin who disappeared from Novellara, in the Reggio area, after opposing the arranged marriage, may have been

killed

. The three left the house at 7.15 pm on April 29 and returned at 9.55 pm.

"These are days of enormous apprehension. An outcome like the one we fear would be shocking for our community. I hope there will soon be a turning point and that the girl can be identified alive". Thus

the mayor

of Novellara, Elena Carletti, commented on the disappearance of Saman Habbas.

The girl had opposed an arranged marriage, denouncing her parents.

The

Office

is investigating for murder and among the suspects there are some family members. "Investigations with molecular dogs are still underway in the vast agricultural area around the farmhouse where they live", says Carletti.

The parents

they would have recently returned to Pakistan, left suddenly and without warning. "The farm where his father works found out about this trip almost by chance - says the mayor - They tried to track him down to close some warehouses in view of bad weather, but the phone was unreachable. After several attempts the employer spoke with a relative who reported that the family had to return home because an aunt was not well. This was the alert that triggered the investigation, also because the girl's name is not on any boarding list at the airports ".

"Saman arrived here in 2016, at the age of 14, for family reunification with her father who has been working in a local farm for 10 years. She graduated from secondary school, then did not continue her studies. Not having great relationships social, searches are more difficult ". So the mayor Carletti tells of Saman. "We know that she was allowed to own a cell phone and we understand she had an Instagram profile. Our social services tried to contact her, but nothing to do."
