Monaco confirmed its place as leader of the French Basketball Championship on Thursday, crushing Le Mans at home 75 to 52.

With 22 wins and four losses, the Monegasques have a better percentage than their closest pursuer Dijon (85% to 79%) who has played three more games.

The season was very strongly disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic and not all clubs have played the same number of matches.

In front of the public, the Roca Team won every quarter-time against Le Mans (7th in the standings) thanks to a great collective performance.

The twelve players lined up scored, including the American leader Dee Bost (14 points).

Strasbourg, fourth, collapsed in Orleans 91 to 65. The SIG went through a big air hole in the third quarter (30-11).

American Luke Fischer was the top scorer (20 points) for the Orléanais.

Le Mans and Orléans occupy the seventh and eighth places, the last qualifiers for the possible Final 8, the organization of which is suspended by a decision of the League expected Friday.

The formula has aroused opposition from players who fear an overly busy schedule.

If she was ultimately ruled out, it is the first in the regular season who would be proclaimed champion.

The clubs still have between five and eight games to play to wrap it up.
