Nine people were killed in a shooting at a light rail maintenance depot in Silicon Valley, USA.
At around 6:34 a.m. local time on the 26th, a man, a VTA employee, fired at a maintenance window at the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) light rail station in downtown San Jose, California, USA, killing at least eight people.
In addition to the eight victims, the suspect also died, but the cause of the suspect's death is unknown.
Russell Davis, spokesman for the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office, said nine confirmed deaths, including suspects, were all VTA employees.
The San Jose Police and Santa Clara County Sheriff were dispatched to the scene after several shooting calls came in on the emergency line 911.
A spokesman Davies explained that the explosives handling team was dispatched to the site and searched for information that there was an explosive in the light rail maintenance window building where the incident occurred.
While the exact number of deaths and injuries has not yet been counted, the police have not yet disclosed the motives of the shooting and the weapons used in the crime.
