China News Service, May 27. According to Korea Broadcasting International (KBS) on the 27th, Japan rejected the request of the South Korean government to revise the maps of the official websites of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The report pointed out that Japan suspected that "Dokdo" (a disputed island between Japan and South Korea, called "Takeshima" by the Japanese side) was marked as Japanese territory on the official website map.

Data map: On March 25, local time, the torch of the Tokyo Olympics was lit.

According to reports, the torch relay map on the official website of the Tokyo Olympic Games is above Shimane Prefecture in Japan, where the disputed islands are located between Japan and South Korea. A small dot is marked to make the place appear to be Japanese territory.

The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately requested Japan to make changes, and the Korean Sports Association of South Korea also sent a letter of protest to the Japanese Olympic Committee.

In response to a written inquiry on the 26th, the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee stated that the map is intended to simply and clearly mark the route of the torch relay including isolated islands in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and only shows the geographical situation of the area.

However, Korean media pointed out that this reply actually advocated that the disputed island is a Japanese island and refused to make any amendments.

According to reports, Japan has communicated relevant policies to South Korea through diplomatic channels.

Former South Korean Prime Minister Ding Shijun emphasized that if Japan insists not to delete the relevant labels, it should consider refusing to participate in the Tokyo Olympics.
