The step-by-step plan of the Hessian state government to contain the corona pandemic will be extended to June 27 following a decision by the cabinet.

“The incidence figures in Hessen are falling.

We are on a good and hopeful path and can be cautiously optimistic, ”said Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) on Wednesday.

In order not to jeopardize the successes, the plan would be continued.

In addition, some adjustments have been made: For example, it is allowed to sing outdoors again during church services.

Child and youth work is possible in groups of up to 20 people (level 1) or up to 50 people (level 2).

In addition, those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered are no longer counted when visiting hospitals are restricted.

Level 2 applies in two circles

The step-by-step plan regulates relaxation of the corona measures.

The prerequisite for level 1 is that the seven-day incidence (new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week) falls below 100 on five consecutive working days.

Then, for example, the outdoor catering is opened with conditions.

The second level takes effect if the incidence is below 100 for a further 14 consecutive days after level 1 or as soon as it falls below 50 for five consecutive days.

Since Tuesday, 14 districts across Hesse have been in the first stage. The second stage already applies in the Hochtaunuskreis, Vogelsbergkreis and Wetteraukreis. Some cities and districts are already opening their outdoor pools, for which Frankfurt, for example, will have to wait until June 7th or 8th.

Hesse's statutory health insurance physicians have criticized what they consider to be high vaccination costs in vaccination centers compared to vaccination in doctors' offices.

A vaccination in the state vaccination center currently costs seven times as much as a vaccination syringe in a doctor's practice, said chairman Frank Dastych, according to a report on hessenschau.de on Wednesday.

Dastych based his calculation on the 7.4 million vaccinations expected by the state government by the end of summer.

This would be offset by the already expected costs of at least 640 million euros for the operation of the vaccination centers.

150 euros for a vaccination in the center

If a little more than half of the vaccinations are administered there, the costs for a vaccination would be around 150 euros, reported hessenschau.de.

The state-commissioned operators of the centers paid, among other things, employees, security personnel, parking lot attendants, catering and cleaning companies.

A syringe at the family doctor's, on the other hand, costs 20 euros.

This is how much the federal government pays the statutory health insurance physicians per injection.

"For this they provide their practice infrastructure, organize appointments with their teams, advise their patients interested in vaccination, inject the vaccine and document it," Dastych calculated.

According to hessenschau.de - both for the vaccination centers and the doctors - the costs for the vaccine, which the federal government pays, are not taken into account.

The budgetary spokeswoman for the FDP parliamentary group, Marion Schardt-Sauer, called on the state government to present the costs for the vaccination centers transparently and to plan ahead. "The vaccination centers currently have to be operated in order to be able to vaccinate as many people as possible against the coronavirus as quickly as possible," she explained. "In the future, however, it is necessary to give general practitioners and company doctors more vaccine, to keep an eye on costs and to reduce the vaccination centers that were run with great organizational effort."
