- We have twice as many bookings in April this year compared to last year and in May we have had a lot of visits to the campsite.

It is still at a very low level compared to before the pandemic, but it feels like it is starting to lighten up a bit, says Ing-Marie Junler who runs Vildmark in Värmland together with her husband.

Wilderness in Värmland is best known for its timber rafting trips on the Klarälven river but conducts wilderness activities in a broader sense than that.

A large part of the tourists who take part in the company's offer come from countries outside Sweden.

Reduced spread of infection important

- What is required now is that the regulations that apply are eased so people have the desire to travel and celebrate holidays together.

We have a clear advantage in that we operate outdoors, in nature where people have recently sought refuge.

But we also need to reduce the spread of infection so that foreigners dare to come here, says Ing-Marie Junler.

In 2020, the company lost virtually all foreign guests.

In the video above, you get to know which activities were hardest hit by it.
