The largest mouse invasion in decades is currently plaguing the state of New South Wales. The record amount of rain in 2020 has caused the population of mice to explode and in pictures you can see how the ground is completely crowded with animals. - I can not sleep because I am so paranoid, I hear them crawling in the walls and in the ceiling. I have heard how some have been gnawed on in their sleep, says farmer Kodi Brady.
Kodi Brady lives in the town of Coonabara Bran, a few hours' drive from Sydney.
Every morning he goes out and shovels hundreds of dead mice from various traps on his farm.
But it does not help.
Each mouse can have hundreds of cubs and now the authorities have started handing out free rat poison and started a massive control work.
- My house is sealed like a submarine. I have put rubber around doors and at windows, says Kodi Brady.
