RIA Novosti informs about it.

“Our goal has been and remains unchanged - to receive all pre-ordered vaccines under the contract with AstraZeneca,” the EU official said, noting that the association is not seeking financial compensation.

However, if the company fails to fulfill its obligations, it "may be subject to fines."

On April 26, the European Union launched legal proceedings against AstraZeneca over non-fulfillment of a contract for the supply of coronavirus vaccines to the countries of the union.

The European Commission demands through the court to deliver 90 million doses, which were expected in the EU in the first trimester.

Of the 120 million doses ordered, only 30 million were delivered.

The British-Swedish company AstraZeneca, in turn, announced its intention to challenge the European Commission's claim in court.
