China News Service, Beijing, May 26 (Reporter Xia Bin) A pen is sometimes worth a thousand troops.

96 years ago, the first daily newspaper founded by the "young" Communist Party of China served as a vanguard in the national anti-imperialist wave.

Since February 1925, nearly 40,000 workers in 22 Nissho spinning mills in Shanghai have gone on strike in order to oppose Japanese capitalists' beatings and unreasonable expulsion of workers, demanding wage increases.

On May 15, a worker representative and Communist Party member Gu Zhenghong was brutally shot and killed by a Japanese capitalist.

The anger of being oppressed over the years was ignited, and the death of Gu Zhenghong directly triggered large-scale demonstrations by workers and students.

On May 30 of that year, the concession authorities arbitrarily arrested students who distributed anti-imperialist flyers and exposed imperialist crimes. More than 10,000 angry people demanded the immediate release of the arrested students at the gate of the old gate on Nanjing Road. However, the British patrol openly shot and killed them. The unarmed masses killed 13 people and injured many, causing the "May 30 Massacre" that shocked China and foreign countries.

After the tragedy, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held an emergency meeting in an old building near the Yokohama Bridge in Zhabei, Shanghai, and decided to establish the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions to lead the entire Shanghai people to strike, go on strike, and go on strike.

At the same time, it was decided that Qu Qiubai would be the editor-in-chief of the publication of "Rexie Daily", Zheng Chaolin was selected from the Central Propaganda Department, and the Shanghai "Republic of China Daily" selected Shen Zemin and He Weixin to form an editorial committee.

Zheng Chaolin recalled why he named the "Hot Blood Daily" and said: "After the May 30th Movement broke out, the capitalists of the Commercial Press, in order to show patriotism or other reasons, used 10,000 yuan to create a tabloid for the employees, and the employees published the "Axioms". The Daily, of course, was patriotic and sympathized with the vigorous movement at that time, but his attitude was gentle and steady. Qu Qiubai said to me after reading it:'Where are there any axioms, let's run a "Rel Blood Daily" by ourselves'. A few days later. It's done."

On June 4th, the first daily newspaper founded by the Communist Party of China, "Hot Blood Daily" was officially published. In addition to editorials, the newspaper also published "Shanghai Under the Iron Hood of Outsiders", "Important News", "Local News", "Domestic News", and "Foreign News". Columns such as “Key News” and “Criticism of Public Opinion”, as well as a supplement to “Voice”, published the truth about the "May 30 Massacre" and exposed imperialist atrocities.

At that time, the "Red Blood Daily" truly became the mouthpiece of the people and the horn of the party: it truly reported the anger that the "May 30 tragedy" caused throughout the country, criticized all kinds of traitors, and systematically promoted the party's leadership in the "May 30" anti-imperialist struggle. The policy is to promptly convey to the masses the trends of all strata, the voices of the people, and the support and struggles of various localities.

Although the "Red Blood Daily" only published 24 issues, it was enough to make the "hot blood" of the masses boil. Together with the May 30th Movement, it left a glorious page in the party's history and played an immeasurable historical role.

The Communist Party of China has attached great importance to the work of journalism and public opinion since its inception. In the course of its century of struggle, it has always been one of the important guarantees for the advancement of various undertakings under the leadership of the party.

As General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out, the party’s news and public opinion work is an important part of the party’s work.

In various historical periods of revolutionary construction and reform, the news and public opinion fronts have breathed with the party and the people, progressed with the times, actively propagated the party's propositions, deeply reflected the voices of the masses, and actively carried out decision-making investigations, which played a very important role.

"Those who are aware change with time, and those who know are governed by things."

For the centuries-old Chinese Communist Party, the pen in the war years has "hot blood", which is often the beginning and prelude of great undertakings; the pen in the peaceful era still has "hot blood", which is a drum for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
