- You need to take a step back for the whole area because everything was so dependent on Moomin Park, so now you need to think again, says Sofia Magnusson, chairman of the Social Democrats in Karlstad.
The chairman of the municipal board, Per-Samuel Nisser, states that discussions are ongoing in the blue-green coalition, but does not want to comment now.
Some parts must be completed
The idea was that a 150-million investment would be made on western Skutberget next to Moomin Park - the so-called vision.
But it was with conditions that the Moomin establishment would get rid of.
The municipal director Ulf Nyqvist says that part of what has been started will be completed.
This applies to, among other things, an outdoor gym, changing rooms, toilets, barbecue areas and the starting point for a mountain bike track.
New political decisions are needed
- But we can not work further with the plan so we need to have a new political stance.

The Social Democrats, who were previously for a theme park on Skutberget but have now completely changed direction.
Sofia Magnusson says that a new plan must have great support among the residents.
- With a focus on outdoor life, recreation, exercise.
The Karlstad Party Quality of Life also believes that the detailed plans for Skutberget must be torn up and that new work needs to start to develop the area.
