China News Service, Beijing, May 25 (Reporter Chen Su) The reporter learned from the China Meteorological Administration on the 25th that there have been frequent heavy rains in southern China recently, and it is expected that there will be two more rains in the next week.

According to statistics from the Central Meteorological Observatory, since May, southern China has experienced five heavy rainfall processes. Due to the high overlap of rainfall areas, the water levels of some rivers, lakes and reservoirs have risen and disasters have occurred.

The number of rainy days in parts of Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guizhou and other places reached 15 to 20 days, and the rainfall was 1 to 2 times more than that of the same period in normal years.

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that from May 26th to 27th and 28th to 30th, there will still be plenty of rain in the south, and the rainfall area will still be located in Jiangnan, northern southern China and Guizhou. Some areas will also be accompanied by strong convective weather, which will cause a high risk of disasters. .

Among them, from the 26th to the 27th, there will be moderate to heavy rains in eastern Jianghan, southern Jianghuai, southern Jiangnan, northern southern China, central and southern Guizhou, eastern and southern Yunnan, and heavy rainstorms (100 to 130 mm) in some areas. Strong convective weather such as heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, winds or hail.

From the 28th to the 30th, there will be another significant rainfall process in Jiangnan, northern South China and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. There will be heavy rains in some areas, heavy rainstorms in the local area, and strong convective weather such as short-term heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the local area.

In addition, from the 26th to the 27th, there will be strong convective weather in Huanghuai and other places.

Meteorological experts reminded that the recent occurrence of mountain torrents, geological disasters or floods in small and medium-sized rivers in central and northern Jiangxi, western Zhejiang, northern Fujian and other places has high meteorological risks. Disaster prevention work must be done and short-term heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and gales must be prevented. Or severe convective weather such as hail.

In addition, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui and other places need to prevent the adverse effects of strong convective weather such as thunderstorms, gales and hail on urban operation, traffic, outdoor operations, etc., and do a good job of wind prevention and reinforcement work on construction sites, temporary structures, and billboards.

At present, many parts of China have entered the flood season one after another, with frequent disastrous weather, and increasing risks of severe convective weather such as short-term heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and hail.

Experts suggest that the public should pay close attention to the short-term nowcast warning issued by the meteorological department, and all localities should improve the emergency response mechanism to enhance the ability to prevent meteorological disasters.
