Emir of Qatar invites Sisi to visit Doha

Today, Tuesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukry, and the head of Egyptian General Intelligence, Abbas Kamel, as well as the head of the Qatari state security apparatus, Abdullah Al-Khulaifi.

The spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement that the Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed to President Sisi a message from Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, which included inviting the Egyptian President to visit Doha, and expressing aspiration to enhance discussions between the two countries on ways to develop relations. Bilateral relations, as well as discussing developments in the regional and international situations, and coordinating positions regarding them, in a way that serves the aspirations of the two countries.

The Qatari Foreign Minister appreciated the strategic and pivotal role that Egypt is playing under the leadership of President El-Sisi in protecting Arab national security and defending the issues of the Arab nation, as well as Egypt's efforts and tireless efforts in order to establish security, stability and development at the regional level.

President El-Sisi asked to convey his greetings to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, expressing Egypt's welcome to the recent developments in the course of Egyptian / Qatari relations, and indicating the aspiration to achieve progress in this regard in various fields, in a manner that serves the goals and interests of the two states and two peoples, as well as Preserving the security and stability of the Arab region.

President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's keenness to achieve cooperation, construction and support Arab solidarity as a firm strategic approach to its policy, within a framework of mutual respect, common interest and sincere intentions, while focusing efforts to achieve good, peace and development for the peoples of the two countries, as well as joining forces to ward off dangers from the rest of the Arab nation and safeguard its national security.

It was agreed during the meeting to intensify consultation and joint coordination between Egypt and Qatar, including the exchange of visits by senior officials during the coming period, to enhance all aspects of bilateral relations, as well as on the level of joint Arab action in order to achieve construction, development and peace and maintain Arab national security.
