WHO = World Health Organization's annual meeting has begun, and Secretary-General Tedros is fair to developed countries and others so that at least 10% of the population in all countries will be vaccinated against the new coronavirus by September. We called for cooperation in the distribution.

Following the spread of the infection, WHO's annual meeting, which began on the 24th, is held in the form of a video conference and is attended by all 194 member states.

In this, Secretary-General Tedros said that only 10 countries occupy more than 75% of the vaccine for the new coronavirus inoculated worldwide, saying that it is "terrible unfair and prolongs the pandemic." He expressed a sense of crisis that vaccination has not progressed mainly in developing countries.

And Tedros has set a new goal of aiming for at least 10% of the population to finish vaccination in all countries by September, and will distribute vaccines fairly to developed countries. We called for cooperation with the "COVAX Facility".

The General Assembly will be held until June 1st, and discussions will be held based on the reports of the WHO and the Independent Committee, which has examined infection control measures in each country, and the international cooperation system will be strengthened in preparation for new infectious diseases. It is expected that a resolution will be adopted.

On the other hand, Taiwan, which is not a member of WHO, was aiming to participate as an observer at this general meeting with the support of the United States and Japan, but was not allowed to participate due to opposition from China and other countries.
