In the morning, unemployed graduates marched in certain districts of the capital.

Then, according to witnesses, whistles sounded in high schools, in support of the demonstrators.

There were fainting spells and traumatized students

 "

Mbayana Laoukoura, a member of

the Chadian teachers' union

, was at Amtoukoui high school in the 7th arrondissement when the police dispersed the students: “

They fired tear gas canisters.

They fell all over the yard.

It created panic and the students were running in disorder.

There were fainting spells and traumatized students.

"

In front of him, a basin filled with tear gas canisters.

"

These are the pomegranates that were used,

" he says, pointing to the basin.

The unionist's anger does not subside: “

The students are insecure because the tear gas canisters can attack the physical integrity of the students.

"

On the side of the authorities, Abderaman Koulamallah, spokesman for the transitional government, calls for appeasement: “

These young people have stoned private vehicles.

The police simply acted to prevent a more serious turn of events.

We have nothing against these young people.

They would have had to come and talk before going to gravel in the street.

"

Teachers are called on by the union to suspend classes in all establishments in N'Djamena until further notice.
