Yuan Longping has been to Guanyang six times and has an indissoluble bond with Guanyang rice production.

Guanyang County is located in the northeast of Guangxi, known as "eight mountains, one cultivated land, half water and half village".
In this remote agricultural county, the average yield per mu of "super rice + ratooning rice" has been ranked first in Guangxi for 11 consecutive years, and Yuan Longping has been hailed as "Guangxi's first high-yield super rice county" and "first-class level of super rice cultivation".
Yuan Longping said that Guanyang's fertile soil is non-sticky, not sandy, not acidic or alkaline, and is a “gemous place” for the development of super rice varieties.

Shi Weijun said that Yuan Lao came to Liande Village for guidance many times during his lifetime, and the rice production in the village increased step by step.
What impressed him was that every time he came, Mr. Yuan had to go to the fields to observe the growth of rice, and to inquire the villagers carefully about the planting situation.
“In the past, conventional rice yielded an average of more than 300 kilograms per mu. Now super rice can grow ratooning rice after harvesting. Last year, my average yield per mu was more than 1,200 kilograms.” Shi Weijun said that in addition to providing improved seeds, there are technicians to guide planting, planting, and planting. Farmers are now very enthusiastic about farming, such as field management.
The "Super Rice + Ratooning Rice" demonstration base located in Liande Village, Huangguan Town, was established in 2010 and is one of the demonstration bases for high-yielding super rice led by Academician Yuan Longping.
On November 4, 2017, 87-year-old Yuan Longping came to the demonstration base and personally participated in the on-site production test and acceptance of the "ton and half rice".
In the same year, the average yield of ratooning rice per mu in Guanyang County Super Rice 100 Mu Research Base exceeded 500 kg for the first time, and the first season rice exceeded 1,000 kg for the first time.
"One-season super rice + ratooning rice" has a yield of 1561.06 kg per mu.
One mu of land produces one and a half ton of rice, which also fulfilled Yuan Longping's dream of "a ton and a half of rice".
The output of rice fields has increased, and the lives of farmers have become better and better.
He Hengli, the "old party secretary" of Liande Village, said that before the establishment of the demonstration base, the per capita annual income of Liande Village was only more than 3,000 yuan in 2009. By 2020, the per capita annual income of villagers will be close to 8,000 yuan. The more large acres grow.
After sowing the seeds in Guanyang, Yuan Longping also hopes to promote the experience of Guanyang super rice.
On October 9, 2019, the workstation of Academician Yuan Longping settled in Xiaolong Village, Xinxu Town, Guanyang County, and the 90-year-old Yuan Longping attended.
This is also the only village-level workstation among more than a dozen workstations established by Yuan Longping in the country. It aims to carry out research work on hybrid rice selection and demonstration promotion, further expand the cultivation area of hybrid rice, effectively increase the yield per unit area of land, and realize Increase production.

As a student of Yuan Longping, Yang Tongzhou, who has followed him for more than ten years, said that he will turn grief into strength and continue to carry out the tasks assigned by Mr. Yuan with practical actions.
