Arranged because of the health crisis, the oral test for final year students takes place in a month, at the end of June.

For many, the preparation is just beginning.

Above all, the time devoted to preparatory work varies greatly from one establishment to another, which worries the pupils.

The grand oral, the flagship test of the bac for final year students, will take place in a month (between June 21 and July 2).

After weeks of uncertainty, the test was well maintained by the Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer, even if it was slightly modified to avoid the risk of deadlock in the questions / answers part with the jury .

It will therefore be possible to bring a word from your teacher if the whole program could not be seen in class because of the health context.

Very different preparation depending on the establishment

But the problem for many students is that the preparation has only just started.

The preparation for the grand oral is normally provided at this time by the professors of specialization, because the test of the bac will relate to subjects chosen by the student and prepared beforehand.

The subjects will fall under one of these two specialty subjects.

But the time devoted to this work varies greatly from one establishment to another.

"We spent two hours on the grand oral, but no more. There are some teachers who are really there for their students, but me in my specialty, not at all. My teachers do not help me so for me that ' was a bit complicated, "tells Europe 1 Lucie, in her final year in a high school in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.

An ordeal that scares the students

The test still scares the students, even if it has been lightened a little.

It also depends on the level of preparation in class.

"In the SVT specialty with my teacher, we finished the final year program. It can allow us to devote all our hours to the grand oral, so that's six hours a week in all", explains Alexia, a student in the 8th arrondissement of Paris and necessarily more relaxed.

For two weeks, she has had several courses on the great oral and has already chosen and validated her subjects. Thursday, she will even take a white oral. She has chosen a transversal subject which embraces her SVT specialty and her Humanities specialty: "Can DNA tests predict the future?", A question she will have to answer in front of her class.
