The head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) outside Palestine, Khaled Meshaal, said that negotiations with Israel "divide" between the Palestinians, while "the resistance and the uprising unite them."

This came in a speech he delivered during a speech festival, yesterday evening, Sunday, entitled "Palestine of steadfastness .. Palestine of victory", organized by the Moroccan "Justice and Development" party, leader of the government coalition, to celebrate the victory of the Palestinians against the Israeli aggression.

"Running behind the mirage of negotiations with Israel is death, sacrifice and jihad for Palestine is life, pride and honor, and the great people affirm in every moment that they are united," Meshaal said.

Stressing that "negotiations separate us (the Palestinians), while resistance, struggle and the intifada unite us."

Meshaal pointed out that "true national unity is that which is based on our rights, our principles, and an open confrontation with the occupation."

For his part, Saad Eddin El Othmani, head of the Moroccan government and Secretary-General of the "Justice and Development" party, said, "The Palestinian resistance has scored a clear victory and we congratulate it on the victory. We also congratulate Muslims wherever they are and all the free people of the world."

And he considered that "the gift of Al-Aqsa revived steadfastness and resistance in the souls, not only among the Palestinians, but in the entire nation."

"Moroccans as a king, government and people are yearning for the day when Palestine is liberated, and the liberation battle will inevitably come," al-Othmani added.

The Palestinian Bishop Atallah Hanna, Archbishop of Sebastia, the Greek Orthodox, said, "We will not raise the banner of surrender, nor will we be in a state of weakness, despair and frustration as the enemies want us to be."

He added, "The Palestinians are being targeted by all non-civilized and inhuman means, which indicate the ugliness, crime and racism of the occupation."

It is noteworthy that the implementation of a ceasefire between the Palestinian factions and Israel began at dawn last Friday after 11 days of the aggression on Gaza.

The recent Israeli aggression resulted in 279 martyrs, including 69 children, 40 women and 17 elderly, in addition to more than 8,900 injuries, of which 90 were classified as "very dangerous." While 13 Israelis were killed, and hundreds were wounded, during the Palestinian factions in Gaza responded to the aggression by firing rockets at Israel.
