The career of the American actor Kevin Spacey (61) was broke after allegations of sexual assault since autumn 2017.

But now the two-time Oscar winner (“The Usual Suspects”, “American Beauty”) has received a role offer from Italy, as American media reported on Sunday.

"I'm very happy that Kevin has accepted my film," said the Italian actor Franco Nero (79, "Django Unchained", "The Collini Case") the ABC News channel.

"I think he's a great actor and I'm looking forward to the start of shooting."

Franco Nero is the main actor and director of the planned film "L'uomo Che Disegnò Dio".

Producer Louis Nero told the industry journal "Variety" that Spacey should take on a smaller role as a police detective.

Spacey did not provide any information about the film plans.

At first nothing was known about the start of shooting in Italy.

In the autumn of 2017, allegations of sexual assault and harassment were raised against Spacey in the course of the #MeToo debate.

Several plaintiffs went to court, but some complaints were withdrawn or dismissed due to statute of limitations.

Last year in New York, two men accused the actor of molesting her as a minor in the 1980s.

The once acclaimed Hollywood star has largely withdrawn from the public eye since 2017. His appearance in the film "Alles Geld der Welt" (2017) by director Ridley Scott was cut out. The streaming service Netflix terminated the collaboration with Spacey for the award-winning series "House of Cards". The series ended without him.
