China News Service, May 24. According to the US Chinese website, a small number of young people and teenagers report heart problems after being vaccinated with the new crown vaccine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating.

According to reports, the CDC New Coronary Vaccine Safety Technical Working Group stated that there are currently "relatively few" reports of myocarditis in young people after vaccination, and "most cases are mild." However, the group said it should still discuss this issue. Vaccine providers communicate.

The CDC pointed out that this heart problem may be related to the mRNA vaccine produced by Modena and Pfizer.

Reports of myocarditis mainly occur in adolescents and young adults. Men are more common than women, and they usually appear about 4 days after the second injection.

The CDC New Crown Vaccine Safety Technical Working Group discussed this issue at a meeting on May 17.

After Pfizer conducted a vaccine trial on more than 2,000 U.S. adolescent volunteers, the FDA approved Pfizer's vaccine for adolescents aged 12 to 15 earlier this month.

Modena is also seeking authorization for use by adolescents, and the company says trials have shown that its vaccine is safe and effective in people aged 12 to 17.

A study published in the medical journal StatPearls in 2020 showed that about 1.5 million people suffer from myocarditis each year, which is equivalent to 10 to 20 cases per 100,000 people.

Viral infection is the most common cause of the disease, but bacteria, cancer, and exposure to environmental toxins can also cause myocarditis.

The U.S. Department of Defense said last month that it is investigating 14 cases of myocarditis in the military that may be caused by the new crown vaccine.

CDC Director Valensky previously said that the agency had not found a link between the vaccine and heart disease or myocarditis.

"We haven't seen any signal. In fact, we have deliberately looked for this signal in more than 200 million doses of vaccination." Varensky said at the White House epidemic briefing on April 27.

At present, more than 162 million people in the United States have received at least one dose of the new crown vaccine.

According to CDC data, approximately 4.6 million people between the ages of 12 and 18 have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

The CDC pointed out that after the new crown vaccine, the incidence of myocarditis in young people "has no difference from the expected baseline incidence."

Some doctors and health experts believe that the new coronavirus can cause myocarditis and other heart damage, but this connection is still being studied.
