“The crew of the Ryanair flight, traveling from Athens and Vilnius today, was warned by the Belarusian air traffic control service about a potential security threat on board and received instructions to redirect the plane to the nearest airport - Minsk,” the airline told TASS.

Ryanair noted that the check carried out in Minsk revealed that there was "nothing suspicious" on board the liner.

“Ryanair has notified the relevant national European agencies and security services and sincerely apologizes to all passengers for the delay due to reasons beyond Ryanair's control,” the airline said.

Earlier, a Ryanair plane on a flight from Athens to Vilnius urgently landed in Minsk.

According to reports, this was due to a bomb report on board.

The founder of the NEXTA Telegram channel recognized as extremist in Belarus, Roman Protasevich, was flying in this airliner, who was detained after landing.

According to the latest data, the Investigative Committee of Belarus opened a criminal case in connection with the false mining of the plane.
