According to a report from Japan’s "Yomiuri Shimbun" on the 22nd, gel masses with high concentrations of radioactive substances were found on the site of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.

On the 20th, Tokyo Electric Power Company stated that some analysts believe that the water containing radioactive substances flows into the drainage pipe under the influence of rain, but the concentration of radioactive substances in the seawater in the harbor has not changed much, which "has no impact on the environment."

According to TEPCO's investigation results, there was water at the bottom of the container where the leakage occurred. Investigations on the radioactive material outside the container and the stagnant water at the bottom of the container showed that the properties of the radioactive material contained in the two are similar.

TEPCO therefore concluded that water leaked from the container and formed a gel mass containing radioactive materials.

TEPCO stated that it has begun to renovate the area where the radioactive material leaked.
