Frankfurt has been waiting for this: on Monday, the city will say goodbye to the federal emergency brake and can relax.

The incidence as the central indicator is now a sufficient number of days below the mark of 100 new cases among 100,000 inhabitants that came in within a week.

As a result, the Main metropolis slips into the first stage of the country.

Now, in other retail outlets, for example, “Click and Meet” is possible without a test requirement, outdoor restaurants are allowed to open, whereby a fresh negative corona test is necessary and so is the mask.

The same applies to the Offenbach district from Monday.

According to further information from the state, the Hochtaunus slips into stage two.

As in the Wetterau, the hosts are also allowed to serve guests inside.

From now on, general rules apply in retail as in the supermarket.

At Pentecost, there is also otherwise very positive news about the corona infection process.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports fewer new cases than a week ago and one less death related to Covid-19.

The state incidence is falling slightly, but is still above the federal level.

Only Thuringia, Saxony, Saarland and Baden-Württemberg are worse off.

    Schleswig-Holstein has the lowest index.

The incidence is also ten points higher than on the day the lockdown was decided in March of this year.

According to the RKI, the health authorities reported 634 new infections overnight after 685 a week ago. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 283,695 people in Hesse have officially contracted the corona virus, which is 4.3 percent of the state's population. 7210 died of or with Covid-19, nine more than were known on Saturday.

The lowest values are recorded in the Wetterau district (34.1) and the Darmstadt-Dieburg district (46.0), which is again below the 50 mark. Just under 50 move from the Hochtaunus and the Main-Taunus, the district of Giessen ranks just five points above that, which slipped into stage one on Saturday. The Waldeck-Frankenberg district has the highest index with a good 141, and the Schwalm-Eder district such as Kassel, Wiesbaden and more recently Offenbach have three-digit values according to the Corona Bulletin of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

For Frankfurt's Palmengarten, the new location means it will be easier for visitors to enter, as the city announced. So it is only recommended to show a negative test. “As before, the Palmengarten allocates visits in two time slots - from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 2.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.”, it continues. The appointments would be assigned at the cash desk at the Palmengartenstrasse entrance; the entrance on Siesmayerstraße remains closed. The policy remains that guests continue to fill out the contact follow-up form. This can also be downloaded in advance from https://www.palmengarten.de/de/. The mask requirement on the entire site will also remain in place for the time being. The corresponding municipal decree continues to apply. The show houses will therefore be opened at the beginning of June - "provided that the then applicable requirements according to the Hessian ordinance are met".

The Frankfurt Goetheturm will remain closed over Pentecost and beyond.

Despite the loosening that is now possible in the Main metropolis, the city will not open the popular excursion destination to visitors.

The corona requirements are not feasible, said a spokeswoman for the city's environmental department of the German press agency.

The city would need to put in place a registration system to ensure contact tracking and prevent queues in front of the tower.

40 percent of the Hessians with the first vaccination

Meanwhile, the state's vaccination offensive is now showing success, at least in terms of the first vaccination rate: 40 percent of people in Hesse have received their first vaccination against the corona virus. That is 0.3 percentage points more than the federal average. The front runner is the Saarland with 43.9; Rhineland-Palatinate comes in at 38.2. For the fully vaccinated, however, Hessen lags behind the federal mean. Hessen has 12 percent, which is 1.6 percentage points below the average.
