The non-governmental organization "Oxfam" estimates that the cumulative wealth of businessmen - who have become billionaires due to "Covid-19" vaccines - allows the vaccination of the poorest countries, and calls for free vaccines against the Corona virus everywhere in the world.

These new fortunes appeared "thanks to the huge profits of pharmaceutical companies that monopolize the production of vaccines against the Corona virus," according to Oxfam's estimates in a press release published before the G20 Global Health Summit, last Friday in Rome.

The French newspaper "lefigaro" stated - in its report that the non-governmental organization Oxfam said - on May 19 this year - that vaccines against the Covid-19 virus have allowed at least 9 people to become billionaires, and that their accumulated wealth will allow the vaccination of the poorest countries.

Huge fortunes

The first two notable fortunes owned by Stephan Bansel, CEO of Moderna ($ 4.3 billion), and Ugur Shaheen, CEO and co-founder of Bioentech Company ($ 4 billion).

Free vaccines

These figures are based on the classification of the American magazine "Forbes" (Forbes), and published by the "People's Vaccine Alliance", which brings together organizations and personalities that demand free vaccines against the Corona virus around the world.

The cumulative wealth of the aforementioned 9 billionaires is $ 19.3 billion, and "will allow all low-income countries to be vaccinated 1.3 times," which "have received only 0.2% of the vaccines manufactured in the world, due to the lack of available doses," according to Oxfam.

According to the American magazine;

The list also includes two founding investors of Moderna, as well as 3 billionaires who are co-founders of the Chinese vaccine company, CanSino Biologics.

Sandra Lot-Fernandez of Oxfam France said in a press release that "these vaccines were funded from public funds and must above all be in the global public interest," calling in the press release to "put an urgent end to these monopolies."

Patents

And the European Commission confirmed - last Wednesday - that the European Union will be "constructive" in the World Trade Organization to assess the lifting of patents for vaccines against the Corona virus, which is what Washington wants, but it will first propose measures to increase production quickly.

Earlier, African countries, European countries and other continents, as well as international organizations attending a summit on African economies held in Paris, called;

To raise patents for Coronavirus vaccines, to allow them to be produced in Africa.

However, "the key members of the G20 - including the United Kingdom and Germany - continue to block initiatives aimed at removing barriers related to intellectual property" on vaccines, according to Oxfam, which also pointed to France's "ambiguous position" on this subject.
